Miss Universe PH 2021 Bea Luigi Gomez Gets the Sweetest Message From GF of 6 Years

Last night, September 30, 26-year-old Bea Luigi Gomez from Cebu City brought home the coveted Miss Universe Philippines 2021 crown. Apart from her stellar beauty queen skills, Bea stood out in the competition for being the first and only openly gay contestant in MUP history.

And the person who couldn't be more proud of Bea is her longtime girlfriend Kate Jagdon! Bea and Kate, who's a DJ from Cebu, are six years strong and you can see snippets of their precious relationship on their social accounts.

Here's Bea's birthday greeting for Kate where she called her her "Happy Pill since 2015":

And here they are at a music festival in Malaysia:

Kate, of course, was present at the MUP 2021 coronation night in Bohol where she uploaded videos of Bea's performance in the pageant. And when Bea was crowned as the winner, you could even hear Kate cheering her heart out for Bea: "Cebu! Cebu!"

Hours after the pageant, Kate gushed over her girlfriend on Instagram and wrote, "You have proved once again @beatriceluigigmz that you're worthy of all the big things in life."

"Congratulations to you for doing it once again! We are so proud of you! The new Ms. Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez and the rest of her court, besting over 99 other candidates in the competition. Your journey of being authentic is an inspiration to every Filipino."

Kate went on to thank Bea's team and the many people who "supported, prayed, rooted, and congratulated" Bea: "You are the reason why she held her head high and continued to conquer her fears."

Ever since her reign as Binibining Cebu 2020, Bea has been actively using her platform for the LGBTQIA+ community, and spoke about calling for awareness and acceptance in an interview with Preview: "As beauty queens, our number one job is to be [ambassadors] of the things that we believe in. As a representative of the LGBTQIA+ community, the goal here is for people to see us, to notice us, and [to] know that we have a lot to offer to our communities. At the end of the day, I just want everyone [to be] accepting of who we are and what we can do."
